Aperol Spritz

The spritz.  A widely known cocktail in Italia comprising of an orange based bitter italian liquor, seltzer and Prosecco, garnished with castelvetrano olives (fresh green olives) is one of my favorite cocktails originating outside of the US.  This refreshingly bitter drink can be found anywhere in Italy and can vary from sweet to bitter (depending on the Prosecco and bitters used).  I came across it at a small delicatessen shop in Venice that housed various smoked meats and cheeses served on freshly baked bread.  Also note that, it makes a great accompaniment to a day at the pool or beach.  Cheers!

Venice, Gondolas at Night2 oz Aperol
3 oz Prosecco
A splash of club soda, if you’d like


2 oz Campari
3 oz Prosecco
½ oz sweet vermouth
