Corpse Reviver #2

We discovered this prohibition style drink while on a trip to Miami Beach, Florida.  It’s beautiful white sand beaches on Florida’s southern most tip, makes it an ideal winter-break destination for many Europeans, Americans, and South Americans.  Miami Beach offers a variety of food, due to it’s coastal town, southern charm and Cuban influences.  I strongly recommend 660 at the Anglers for a great brunch, and Nuvo Seafood and Pasta for a fresh catch dinner!  In addition, Cuban food is a must… and you can find Cuban restaurants everywhere.  My favorite dish is herb marinated pork, beans and plantains which make for a delightful combination after a long walk on the beach!

Be weary of Ocean Drive, as it can be quite the tourist trap.  If you’re looking for a taste of Miami Beach as the locals see it, check out Clandestino’s Pub.  If you don’t mind the dive bar feel, you’ll find that it offers a great variety of micro brews and classic cocktails.  Here is where we discovered the Corpse Reviver (#2).  Cheers!

Corpse Reviver #2

1 oz London Dry Gin
1 oz Cointreu
1 oz Cocchi Americano or Lillet Blanc
1 oz Lemon juice

Shake these ingredients and strain into a glass that has been swirled (and dumped out) with a bit of absinthe.  This bit of absinthe adds just a touch of flavor without being overwhelming in the drink.
