Tacitus

Inspired by the Pliny’s Tonic, the flagship drink of Anvil, this is one of my first “original cocktails”.  In addition to being a personal creation, it also is able to showcase my homemade tinctures (these are not difficult, give them a try) which makes it a fun experiment for me as well. The ginger and cucumber give this a cool mouth feel while the habanero gives a nice bit of spice at the end.  The bitters rounds things out to give the drink more depth, overall I wouldn’t rate this the best drink I have ever had but I would definitely make this one again.

Tacitus

3 oz Gin (I used Hendricks to add additional cucumber flavor)
1 dash Dry Vermouth
2 dashes of Angostura
1 dropper of Habanero tincture
4 droppers of Ginger tincture

Muddle one large slice of cucumber first and shake with ice.  Strain with a double strainer and garnish with a cucumber slice.
